FSC Posters

FSC UK now has a range of posters available, promoting FSC and encouraging consumers to look for the FSC logo. Two of the posters feature the winning designs from our children's competition and another two feature winning images from the photographic competition. The design and printing of the posters was sponsored by The Co-operative Group and Defra's Environmental Action Fund. Read full entry
FSC Controlled Wood Advice Note available

An advice note on the implementation of FSC Controlled Wood requirements in FSC-STD-40-005 V2-1 is now available in the Policy Document section of this website. The fourth FSC Global Paper Forum will take place in Germany on the 9th and 10th of June 2008. The Forum will take place at one of the biggest printing trade fairs worldwide (Drupa in Dusseldorf). Previous events have been very successful.The meeting is intended to build a bridge between paper buyers and paper producers. More than 100 million hectares certified to FSC standards

In March 2008, the area of forest certified to FSC standards exceeded 100 million hectares. Currently 103,456,399 hectares of forest are FSC certified, distributed over 79 countries. Read full entry
Bovis Lend Lease achieve FSC Chain of Custody

Bovis Lend Lease have become the first major UK contractor to achieve FSC Chain of Custody certification. This step follows a growing commitment to use of FSC timber. They are also responsible for the first commercial building to be completed using the Project Certification standard, and for encouraging several of their suppliers to gain FSC certification. Increasing Awareness of FSC in the UK

In January FSC UK commissioned GfKNOP to carry out a survey to assess the level of awareness of the FSC logo in the UK. This followed a similar poll carried out in March 2007. Read full entry

Photographic Competition Winners Announced

FSC UK has announced the winners of its national photographic competition. FSC UK asked for original images of FSC certified forests or FSC products. The winning entries will be used to promote the work of FSC and to encourage consumers to look for the tick tree logo. Read full entry
Winners of Children's Competitions Announced

FSC UK has announced the winners of its poster and poetry competitions. Entries were received from all over the UK and the judges were impressed by the high standard of the poems and posters. The winning entries will be used to promote the work of FSC. Read full entry
