Winners of Children's Competitions Announced

Fri 18 Jan 2008

FSC UK has announced the winners of its poster and poetry competitions.  Entries were received from all over the UK and the judges were impressed by the high standard of the poems and posters.  The winning entries will be used to promote the work of FSC.

Two first prizes were awarded in the poetry competition, open to those aged 11-18.  Laurel Quinn, aged 13 from Sheffield, and Sian Mclellan, aged 11 from Swindon will receive £50 worth of vouchers from Marks & Spencer

Rosie Teasdale, FSC UK’s Marketing Officer said “We were delighted with the poems by Laurel and Sian and could not choose between them.  Sian’s acrostic poem, using the FSC acronym, is short and catchy, lending itself to use in promotional material.  Laurel’s longer poem, following the progress of a chestnut tree to highlight the importance of the FSC’s work, was clearly fully researched and very well written"

Egmont UK, Rebecca Morch and Fair Deal Trading Ltd also donated prizes and FSC Uk would like to thank them for their support.

Details of the winning entries can be found on the Competitions page of the website.

Winners of the photographic competition will be announced shortly.
