FSC UK team bolstered by two new staff members
This week at FSC UK we have welcomed two new interns to our Llanidloes offices. Stepping into the role of Research and Administration Intern is Johanna Hawker, while Owain Farrington has joined the communications desk.
Johanna has a background rooted in conservation and Owain comes to FSC UK from a career in journalism. Using their talents, the pair will help the FSC take care of the world's forests.
Johanna Hawker - Research and Administration Intern
"I feel privileged to begin work at FSC UK as Research and Administration Intern. I have a strong interest in the sustainable use of natural resources which is supported by my biological sciences degree and conservation volunteering. This has prepared me to assist on research projects for FSC UK. It brings me great pleasure to have the chance to put my passions and knowledge to good use in informing a movement I believe in. I intend to use my administration and customer service experience to support the daily operation and continued progress of FSC UK. I am looking forward to working as part of a friendly and dynamic team while gaining an improved understanding of how FSC UK contributes to ensuring sustainable use of woodland products worldwide."
Owain Farrington - Business and Consumer Communications Intern
"There is an exciting year ahead for me as I have been granted the honour of joining the exemplary FSC UK team, at the cutting edge of responsible forestry. As a Communications Intern I look forward to representing the voice of this established mark in sustainability and ecological awareness. I am an experienced news reporter and after years of covering a variety of stories, from general elections to the Houston flooding; I have been able to focus down on the issues that connect with myself personally. The natural world and all its resources have steadily taken more precedent in my mind and conscience. Now in this role at FSC UK, I hope to utilise my communication skills to resonate with large audiences and support something that is making a positive impact on our planet."
