Trademark Support & Licensing Officer

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an international organisation dedicated to ensuring that forests are managed in a responsible manner across the globe. FSC UK, based in Llanidloes, Powys, is one of the larger national offices. FSC UK is a registered charity responsible for promoting the FSC’s aims and objectives throughout the United Kingdom.

We are seeing increasing interest from brands and retailers seeking to use the FSC trademarks to promote their use and sale of FSC-certified products. It is essential that the relationship we have with these companies is proactively managed and that we support those companies committed to the FSC system.

We are seeking a new member of our team, who will provide administrative support to existing and potential FSC Promotional Licence Holders. A thorough induction to the role and full FSC training will be provided.

The Trademark Support & Licensing Officer role will be crucial to this work and will require a patient and polite individual who has the ability to understand and communicate FSC's requirements effectively. Attention to detail will be paramount to this role, as will be a proven ability to maintain effective working relationships and indeed to enjoy doing so. You will join a small but ambitious team of people who are dedicated to supporting our Promotional Licence Holders and who enjoy communicating FSC's message.

If you enjoy facilitating effective business relationships, working in a small team of great people, and delight in accurate and effective recording of information along with getting to grips with requirements and standards, then this could well be the job for you!

FSC UK Treasurer

We are looking for a new member of the FSC UK board to act as Treasurer.

FSC is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC’s vision is that the world’s forests meet the social, ecological and economic rights and needs of the present generations without compromising those of future generations. FSC is a democratic organisation that is governed by members representing environmental, social and economic interests.

FSC UK promotes the FSC system, sets forest management standards for the UK by inputting into the UK Woodland Assurance Standard (UKWAS), and provides an information service. FSC UK (Ephesea UK) is a registered charity in England and Wales (No 1130203) and a non-profit making company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (No 06792524)

The charity is governed by its Trustees, who are also known as the FSC UK Board of Directors. Trustees stand for terms of three years and are assigned to one of the three chambers: economic, environmental and social. The aim shall be to achieve chamber balance with at least one trustee and, normally, no more than four trustees representing each of the three chambers.

We are seeking to elect a new trustee willing to act as Treasurer. As we aim for equal representation across the three chambers, we particularly encourage applicants representing economic or social interests. We are looking for someone who will:

  • Bring professional experience as an accountant or treasurer and be understanding of the operations and working conditions of a small charity
  • Provide oversight and advice on the charity’s finances.
  • Liaise with the Executive Director and co-present accounts and financial statements at Board meetings and Annual Members’ Meetings
  • Work with the Board to ensure appropriate financial systems and controls are in place.

In Pre-Covid times, we held three in-person board meetings per year. The frequency of meetings has been increased to five/six per year while face-to-face meetings are not possible, and these meetings are held online. You would be joining an engaged and experienced Board of Directors committed to helping ensure Forests For All Forever.
