FSC Furniture Awards 2021: celebrating sustainable wooden furniture
The first European edition of the FSC Furniture Awards has been launched: 7 competition categories and 5 special prizes to recognise the commitment of FSC-certified companies in the wooden furniture sector.
After the all-Italian experience of the first two editions, this year the Furniture Awards opens up to Europe with new categories and new countries: 12 prizes to be awarded, divided into indoor categories (Home-Living, Home -Office, Office furniture, Retail furniture, Public spaces furniture), outdoor (Outdoor furniture for home, Outdoor furniture for public spaces) and special awards (CSR, Green, Communication, Labelling and Small business). Companies based in Italy, San Marino, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Balkans (Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia) or Poland, that have produced FSC-certified wooden furniture in the last three years, can participate in the competition.
The Awards represent the result of the work that the Forest Stewardship Council has carried out in recent years in the furniture wood sector, raising awareness of companies and citizens in the choice of raw materials and products of forest origin from sustainable management, and intercepting an increasingly established trend: in Europe there are 4,863 active certificates in the wooden furniture sector, more than 500 of which are in the UK.
Registrations for the FSC Furniture Awards are now open and will close on 14 October. An official launch webinar was held on 8 June, watch it here.
The announcement, application form and more information are available on the official website, www.fscfurnitureawards.org.
