FSC UK Speaking at the National Networking Day of the Forest Education Network
This first national networking day for the Forest Education Network (FEN) will take place at the Forestry Commission Wyre Forest Discovery Centre as part of World Forestry Day on Friday 21 March and we are pleased to be attending.
Our Business Advisor, Sue Moss, will be speaking about FSC in the UK and what it means. The FSC tick-tree logo is increasingly found on forest products in our shopping trolley, from tissue paper to toilet seats, rolling pins to rolling papers - but what does FSC really mean? Find out more about how FSC's global vision is helping to meet the social, ecological, and economic rights and needs of the present and future generations. This presentation will focus on how we as educators can make more of the links to these themes and the FSC.
This event aims to provide a forum for exchange for those involved in woodland related learning in England, helping to explore and extend activities, resources and connections. Direct experiences in woodlands give powerful links to understanding more about the important role of trees and woodlands in our world, the social and environmental benefits they can bring as well as links to our forest industry, careers and our growing wood culture.
FEN promotes the wide range of learning experiences in relation to trees, woods and forests, and is hosted by the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom. More information about the FEN can be found here.
More details about the event programme, individual workshops and booking instructions can be found in the download below. If you have any questions, please contact the FEN Coordinator: fen at lotc.org point uk.
