FSC wins National Conservation Achievement Award
Since 1966, the US National Wildlife Federation – a member of the Forest Stewardship Council environmental chamber based in the United States, with more than four million members of its own – has honored individuals and organizations with its National Conservation Achievement Award, known as the ‘Connie’. Designed to recognize outstanding contributions to protecting wildlife, previous honorees include film stars Robert Redford and Bette Midler, US Vice President Al Gore, and US President Jimmy Carter.
FSC was incredibly honoured to receive a Connie at the 2015 awards ceremony.
For more than 75 years, the National Wildlife Federation has been a leading voice for wildlife, inspiring Americans to protect wildlife and habitat for future generations and fostering the next generation of conservationists. Because many species migrate across international borders, the organisation also manages an international conservation program focused on forests, agriculture and climate.
Barbara Bramble, Senior Director of International Wildlife Conservation at the National Wildlife Federation serves on FSC International’s Board of Directors and introduced the FSC award in a short video.
Ian Hanna, Director of Strategic Development at FSC International received the award on behalf of the organisation.
