FSC UK exhibit at Edie Live

The FSC UK stand at Edie Live 2016 focused on providing information and guidance on the procurement and specification of timber-based materials, advising those with questions about this subject. It also provided a valuable opportunity to meet and connect with those interested in FSC.

Procurement surgeries offered throughout the show proved very popular, and provided businesses with guidance on how to best design their policies, and further, how to most accurately meet these in line with FSC requirements.

We engaged with cross-sector business representatives, including those in construction, infrastructure, retail and environmental management, answering questions ranging across the entire FSC system. Interest included enquiries on how to become FSC certified, information on particular FSC standards and requirements and questions on face-to-face and online training. The show was also a valuable opportunity to connect with businesses involved in renewable energy and technology, and sustainability in general.

Businesses were particularly interested in how to incorporate FSC into their organisation and further how this might help them procure effectively and communicate their commitments.

As part of the show, FSC UK provided information packs which included factsheets on procurement and Chain of Custody, example procurement policies, as well as notepads, pencils and bookmarks. The example policies were well received, with business representatives appreciating the inspiration for their own procurement.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Robert Dyas (www.robertdyas.co.uk) who kindly donated furniture for the show as seen in the photos below. The FSC 100% furniture set was a very welcome addition to the FSC UK stand.
