FSC Establishes FPIC Working Group
Six international members and a representative of an accredited FSC certification body will revise our guide on how to obtain free, prior, and informed consent (FPIC) within the scope of FSC forest management certification.
The guide is for forest communities, forest management certificate holders, and FSC-accredited certification bodies. And it aims to state as clearly as possible how relevant parties can participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of an FPIC process that adheres with principle three and principle four of the FSC Principles and Criteria and their respective international generic indicators (IGIs).
