2018 FSC Global Market Survey Report available now!
© FSC GDEvery two years, FSC conducts the Global Market Survey to gain a better understanding of how FSC is perceived by both its certificate holders and promotional license holders. The results help us identify the needs of our stakeholders and see how certification trends evolve over time.
This information is vital as we strive to continuously improve the FSC system. In 2018, more than 4,000 certificate holders and 133 promotional licence holders participated in the survey - the highest participation rate in recent years. FSC seeks candidates for the technical working group for implementing the FSC Policy on Conversion
FSC is seeking candidates with practical experience in compensation, restitution and restoration for a technical working group tasked with developing a mechanism to translate the FSC Policy on Conversion into operational practices.

FSC risk assessments: what about unapproved countries?
As of 30 June 2019, any country that does not have an approved FSC risk assessment published on the FSC Document Centre becomes an unassessed area. Extended company risk assessment (ECRA) are needed before any material can be sourced from these countries. read more …

Transaction verification in Calophyllum plywood and veneer supply chains
FSC requires transaction data of Calophyllum plywood and veneer supply chains to be verified from 2 July 2019. All affected certificate holders must submit their purchase and sales data from Q1 and Q2 2019 to their certification body by 2 September. read more …

Transaction verification for Amazon timbers in Peru and Brazil
The accreditation body Assurance Services International (ASI) is currently verifying the accuracy of FSC purchase and sales claims made by trading partners in Brazil and Peru for three log supply chains.
Verified supply chains are related to these wood species from the Amazon region: Cumaru (Dipterix odorata), Jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril), and Ipe (Jatoba). The certification bodies accredited by ASI will collect all data for this transaction verification from the FSC certificate holders by 28 August. read more …

FSC risk assessments for Brazil, Canada, Honduras, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Papua New Guinea now available
As of 26 June 2019, organisations seeking to source controlled wood from Brazil, Canada, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, or Papua New Guinea are required to use the latest FSC risk assessments to conform with standard FSC-STD-40-005 Requirements for Sourcing FSC Controlled Wood. read more …
