Save the Date – FSC General Assembly 2014
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Board of Directors has decided to hold the 7th FSC General Assembly in Seville, Spain, from 7–14 September 2014.
The General Assembly 2014 will mark the 20th anniversary of FSC’s continuous efforts to find solutions that benefit people and forests worldwide. It will bring together FSC members and stakeholders from around the world, who will participate in a unique and democratic forum. It will also be an opportunity to celebrate two decades of successfully promoting responsible forest management.
FSC encourages all its members and stakeholders, from the global North and South, to participate in the General Assembly 2014. Program details will be available soon on the FSC General Assembly website. For more information before then, please contact ga2014 at fsc point org
FSC Members can vote at the FSC General Assembly, which is FSC’s highest decision-making body. Every three years, members of the social, environmental and economic chambers of FSC come together to discuss a sustainable future for the world’s forests and the people who inhabit them. Motions are proposed by one member and seconded by two more, they are then voted on by members and weighted according to the north-south chamber structure.
