Open for Consultation: FSC Core Labour Requirements Incorporated in the FSC Chain of Custody Standards
All stakeholders are invited to comment on the first draft of the FSC Core Labour Requirements in the chain of custody certification and chain of custody evaluations standards. The consultation opens on 30 January 2020, and the deadline for commenting is 30 March 2020.
In August 2017, the FSC International Board of Directors approved the development of requirements based on the generic criteria and indicators based on ILO Core Conventions into the FSC chain of custody standards (FSC-STD-20-011 and FSC-STD-40-004).
The ILO Core Conventions cover fundamental principles and rights at work, such as:
- freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
- the elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labour;
- the effective abolition of child labour; and
- the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
We encourage all stakeholders to join the consultation. To participate, please login or register at FSC Consultation Platform.
