What does responsible forest management mean to you?
For the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®), our answer to this question is set out in our Principles and Criteria, developed by our international community of members. But what would your answer be, as someone involved with small or community woods in the UK? Is it about sustainable livelihoods? A healthy environment? Vibrant communities? Do you have a vision for the future, or an example of something practical that illustrates your approach, that you can show us right now?
Whatever your answer, we’d love you to share it with us.
FSC UK is inviting short videos to showcase all the passion that we know people feel for small and community woods, and to build a picture of all the varied visions for forest management that inspire that passion. We’ll bring these videos together on our website and other communications channels so we can all learn from them; most of all, we want to figure out how FSC can play a part in helping you to achieve and perpetuate your vision.
You can find some example videos here.
We would like your video to be a maximum of one minute long, filmed in landscape on a smartphone and sent as an .mp4 file or .mov file. Video files can be emailed to Amy at amy at fsc-uk point org. The deadline for submissions is Friday 30 April.
