WWF study shows wildlife thrives in FSC-certified forests
© WWFWWF recently published a briefing synthesising the latest scientific research showing FSC-certified concessions can harbour a diversity of species, from big cats to small insects.
Based on two different studies, the research showed that commercially logged tropical forests can help preserve wildlife when they are managed according to the FSC standards.
WWF also created a new website offering visitors a virtual tour of an FSC-certified forest to discover some of the species recorded by the researchers. read more …

First draft of the FSC Policy on Conversion now open for public consultation
The first draft of the FSC Policy on Conversion (FSC-POL-01-007 V1-0 D1-0) is now available for a public consultation.
FSC’s Policy on Conversion was developed to guide the review and revision of relevant FSC Principles and Criteria, and to advise the national standard developers in creating the corresponding indicators.
In addition, the policy will provide overall guidance to the Policy of Association and other elements of the normative framework which regulate conversion. read more …
