ASI lifts suspension of Bureau Veritas

On the Road to Recovery – Pine Martens in Wales

(© VWT / R.Cruickshanks)© VWT / R.CruickshanksAlthough once common throughout Britain, the pine marten is now one of the rarest mammals in the UK, after undergoing huge declines in the 19th century. By 1915, pine martens were almost extinct in Britain, with the exception of the North-West of Scotland and the uplands of Northern England and Wales where the species survived. Since the mid-20th century, the Scottish pine marten population has been recovering well, but unfortunately that has not been the case in England and Wales. read more …
