OCP Consultation With Industry

The Online Claims PlatformOn Tuesday the 8th of April, the FSC Director General and staff met with industry partners from Europe and North America (SCA, Stora Enso, Domtar, BillerudKorsnäs, and IKEA). The meeting was the first of a series in which FSC is consulting with stakeholders of all chambers to develop the path forward for the Online Claims Platform (OCP), a consultation mandated by the FSC International Board of Directors. read more …

The OCP is FSC’s new Online Claims Platform for all FSC Certificate Holders.OCP webinars are available to all FSC certificate holders and any other stakeholders who are interested in learning more about the OCP or how to test the OCP. FSC certification leads to better conditions for the people of the Congo Basin

(c) Ollivier Girard for Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR)A study released today illustrates that the people of the Congo Basin living in Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified logging concessions are experiencing better social conditions than those living in non-certified areas. The report was compiled by the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR), with funding from CIFOR and WWF, and it demonstrated that the workers and their families living in FSC certified areas experienced better working and living conditions than those in non-certified areas, including increased worker safety, better access to healthcare, and enhanced housing conditions. read more …
