Controlled Wood: New Risk Assessments Now Available

With effect 18 May 2017, FSC has approved risk assessments for Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, and Vietnam.


FSC risk assessments determine the risk of sourcing unacceptable material according to the five categories of controlled wood. The assessments will be used by organisations for sourcing controlled wood following the standard FSC-STD-40-005 Requirements for Sourcing FSC Controlled Wood.

Additional categories for the following three countries were approved on 18 May 2017:

  • Belgium: Categories 3 & 4
  • Denmark: All categories
  • Ireland: Categories 3 & 4
  • Viet Nam: Categories 2 & 5
